Shape formed by elements. A dead wood; the growing forest; an ecology environment. From imagination to a visual form, A creation is started from exploration, end by group of images in our memory. Then, reborn from another series of creation, just like the nature cycle. And now I would like to share some trial craftsmanship to you
The material to form the bole include: a piece of bark, a round plastic grid, few nylon band. Bark disinfect with Hydrogen peroxide. Cut to a desirable size. The plastic grid can be find at the gardening hardware shop, if no round shape, you can use base grid for pot cut to size. I prefer to use two different size round grid to form the bole because that would create a perspective looking. Use nylon band to mount the bark and plastic grid to a round shape. Place the bole into the tank diagonally, the bigger size place facing the front panel, the smaller side towards back that would create a perspective outlook. Cut a hole at the middle of bole, like a nature corrode, another main purpose is to place some stone inside so as to let the bark sink. Bark would simulate other nature view. Stack few piece of bark together. use the nylon band to tight it up, reserve a gap in between. Moss can be stuck in between to simulate plant grow from the gap. Cut the bark into a desirable shape, mount with some moss to simulate a cliff wall covered with plant, use a group of stone on the back to fix the bark and replicate another layer of slope. However, the over grown moss cover most of the slope when photo. On this layout, there is a trial. I use a dried willow branch and moss to form a bush forest. Since use thin line to tight the moss on the branches is cumbersome and there is a lot of small bunch of moss has to tight, So I try to develop a more convenience way to mount the moss on branches, finally, I use the sucker to mount the moss Use scissor to open the sucker and cut it to about 1cm portion.. Put a bunch of willow moss on the branch and griped with the sucker. I notice that leaves and branches are developed close to the node, so I mount the moss over there. Since the sucker already an open ended, so it just like a small gripper. After the willow moss grows, all the gripper will hide behind the moss. Just a small bunch of moss after finish all the portion, this is the first view in the water. After two weeks, moss start to grow. After a month, willow moss grow as a ball shape, most of gripper and branches hided. During winter, temperature are lower, since moss just below the water surface and light luminosity are high, so moss grow rapidly. Some other plants are not on time, so I have to rearrange the willow moss at early February. One month before mature, water temperature start to raise. Some of the plant start grow rapidly, there are minor algae issue. The over grown moss block the water flow. Since moss almost occupied the right hand size, so water are not flow evenly from right to left, as the result, Anubias on the left are not good as a month before because of polluted water at the slow water flow zone.
