Island of Glory Set up

-Substrate contains Power Sand. This sand type helps promote water circulation on the bottom as well as delaying the senescence of the substrate. It can also be used over and over. Only a thin layer of about 1cm is needed.

-A layer of wire-mesh is used to prevent future possibility of aquasoil mixing with the power sand. It also serves to reduce any water circulation reduction. The wire-mesh can be found at any local hardware store.

-The island’s periphery will be covered with white sand. Hence, a soft plastic sheet is used for partition.

-Everyone knows ADA Africana has low pH value. The downside to it is it does not contain too much nutrition and the color is not too appealing to some. To alleviate this issue, Amazonia can be used to conceal the Africana. However, due to the possibility of the two mixing, Africana can be placed inside the black pantyhose. This also helps to uphold the created hills.

-The next step entails adding Amazonia and white sand, after which the branch can be added.

-When the substrate has been added, the plastic partition can be pulled out. At this point rocks can also be added. In certain areas which are more prone to running off, rocks can be added there as well. Once the plants have taken roots, these rocks can then be removed.
